PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS OF
IAFF LOCAL 483
Fire Chief Mark D. Zeier
RE: Common Council Meeting of July 18, 2005 Dear Chief Zeier:
I write on behalf of the Sheboygan Fire Fighters, Local 483, IAFF, AFL-CIO, hereinafter "Local 483", regarding the above-referenced matter. It was brought to the attention of Local 483 that an unidentified member of Local 483 in attendance at a July 18, 2005 meeting of the Sheboygan Common Council allegedly made unflattering comments about a public official. You and I met with Mayor Juan Perez to identify the complainant and provide Local 483 with a copy of the complaint. I was advised that a copy would be forthcoming. To date, Local 483 has not received any such complaint.
Local 483 prides itself on treating elected officials and members of the public with respect and dignity. Local 483 does not condone any behavior or comments that would tend to reflect poorly on Local 483 and/or its members. Specifically, Local 483 does not condone the utterance of derogatory or unwarranted comments about any elected official.
That said, Local 483 has conducted its own investigation into the allegation. Our investigation reveals that no derogatory comments about any elected official were made by the Local 483 members in attendance at the July 18, 2005 meeting of the Sheboygan Common Council. Absent any evidence to the contrary, Local 483 intends to dismiss the allegations as baseless. We trust you will do the same.
Thank you for your attention to the above. Please feel free to contact
me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Wallace Endsley
