I was surprised by your vote last night. I know you all support the municipal court, but thought you would vote not to do it as it is really not a necessity for the immediate future. Also, it will use space in the new police station that could be used for something more important or more o a need in the police department. As DPC Sherven stated last night, the MC is their last priority. Also, the MC will also lead to more of a parking problem then what we do have right now. I believe that we need to work with the circuit courts and the judges to find a solution to our need for more court time. I believe that if an effort was made we could work out a solution that would allow the City to save money and additional cost for construction of the police station. But, we have to want to work with the governmental units. We know that the cost of the police station must be reduced and the size will be cut to about 40,000 sq. ft. or less. Do we really have the additional space for a Municipal Court and the 2 or 3 employees that may be needed? Also, who is going to collect the money from the fines and fee of this court? Maybe we will do as the County does and hire someone else to collect for us and pay them 25% to 50% of the fines and fees. Thanks for letting me vent. Jim G
