Panel backs buying playground equipment for Sheridan Park The Press saw fit to threaten this site with copyright infringement. Note, however, nothing was illegal due to proper referencing of the source, author and date. I was assured of this by an attorney, but the Press is doing everything in its power to aid Perez in attacking me to have information removed from this site, so erring on the side of caution, henceforth only excerpts will be referenced. Thank you. Planned upgrades at Sheridan Park could become a reality after the Sheboygan Common Council's Public Works Committee voted Thursday to recommend the city purchase $35,000 in playground equipment for the park. Paul Meyer, city parks superintendent, said the "integrated cluster" of play equipment is part of the city's $75,000 improvement plan for the park — funded by a Federal Block Grant — and would be installed in the late summer or early fall. Ald. Meyer said the group raised and donated about $2,500 for improvements at the park, which will be used to buy park benches.
There was a lot of criticism from people who said the city was dragging its heels on park improvements, Ald. Meyer said, but the city has been working on the upgrades for some time. Ald. Jean Kittelson said she's happy Sheridan Park improvements are on the horizon. "This is a good thing," Kittelson said. "We need to keep the focus going forward and make the park more appealing." When will these people understand that the Park is infested with drug dealers, gangs and other criminals and is in dire need of safety measures first and foremost? These people seem to live on another planet as all they care about is "play time" in a place where it is clearly not safe for any children to play! www.recallperez.com |
